Can anyone help me? I am writing a report on the structure of dialysis tubing, and it's uses in modern medicine. Can anyone explain this in simple terms?

I'm not sure about medical (renal) dialysis, but I understand that it's usually used to support patients with kidney problems.

In laboratory dialysis, most of the tubing is made from cellulose (a high molecular weight glucose polymer). For dialysis use, the material is extruded in tubular form and made to have tiny, molecule sized, pores. The size of the pores determines which molecules can pass through the membrane and which cannot.

That is is pretty basic description of the tubing used in laboratories.
