 | It should somewhat diffuse through dialysis membranes which have MWCOs 500 and above. The higher the MWCO the faster and easier it will diffuse.
From hydrocortisone's structure and low solubility in water, I would be concerned about it adsorbing to the membrane surface. If you're looking to just remove the hydrocortisone from the sample with dialysis this is not a problem. If you're looking to recover the hydrocortisone you'll probably want to use a cellulose acetate membrane to minimize this adsorbtion (but you'll still have some occurring). |
