separation of biotin from a 1500 MW compoundmallik2001-06-27Click here to register.
Hi:
I would like to separate biotin from a small oligosaccharide (MW 1500, linear chain). To my knowledge, waters sells a 1000 MWCO dialysis membrane, which, I am afraid, might not be suitable for my purpose as the 1000 MWCO is for a globular molecule, and mine is a linear chain. Is there any other way to remove excess biotin? DSoes someone sell a membrane with a lower, say 500 MWCO? I know that Avidin column is not an option here. thanks for your responses.

Spectrum (my employer) sells membranes with MWCOs of 100 and 500 (the 500 being a good choice for avidin). These are described at http://www.spectrapor.com/dialysis/biotech/CE.html.

Thanks for visiting.
