We are doing some experiments watching the rate of dialysis of different ions with the RC membranes. Do you have any data on the rate of dialysis of ions such as K, Na, Cl, NO3 or buffers such as tris, throught the different MWCO's of the RC membranes?

The "classical" Spectra/Por membranes (numbers 2 and 4) generally dialyze small ions very rapidly.

That said, cellulose is amphoteric and generally carries a charge so that the dialysis rate would be pH dependent. Small, hard ions (like K, Na, and Cl) are likely to dialyze rapidly at nearly any pH.

Thanks for visiting.
